Recreational AquaGo! Program -
a "learn to Artistic Swim" Program
The AquaGo! Program is a Nationally developed grassroots program that is an introduction to artistic (synchronized) swimming. This program provides an opportunity to learn about artistic swimming and focuses on the development of the four pillars or skills required for success in the sport of artistic swimming.
AquaGO! benefits participants by:
  • Introducing new ways to move in and out of the water
  • Developing physical and aquatic literacy
  • Being accessible and inclusive – AquaGO! welcomes all abilities, skill levels and participants
  • Providing fitness and health benefits and the opportunity to participate for life
  • Developing teamwork skills
It is preferred that swimmers are comfortable swimming in deep water, but not necessary.
The program is intended for male and female athletes 5-9 years old who still require assistance with basic swimming skills.
The program runs once a week for 2 hours and is delivered as a seasonal program.
In water training: Fridays (6.30-8.30 pm).
Pre-competitive Recreational Program - “NEW”
A “NEW” program designed for those athletes who are new to artistic swimming but have good swimming skills and have experience in other athletic activities such as: gymnastics, cheer, dance, soccer, figure skating
This program is intended for male and female athletes 10+ years old, who have solid swimming skills but do not wish to compete.

This full year program (Sept - end of May) involves 2 hours of in-water training, and 2 hours of online dry-land training per week.
Participants can join at any time throughout the year.

In water training: Fridays (6:30-8:30 pm).
Online training: Wednesdays.
Novice Program - Introduction to Competitive Program
A competitive program which offers an excellent middle ground for those wishing to have a competitive experience with relatively small time and travel commitment.
Novice Competitive swimmers train twice per week for the full year (Sept - end of May) and will participate in a minimum of two Ontario Artistic Swimming Novice Competitive meets. Based on the Long-term Athlete Development (LTAD) model, all Novice Competitive swimmers will increase their strength, endurance, flexibility and focus as they learn and develop more advanced artistic swimming skills. There is also an extra emphasis on team-building and other social/mental skills.

In 2020/21 season we will be introducing an online dry-land component to further enhance the Novice athlete.
In water training: Fridays & Sundays
Online training: Wednesdays
Provincial Competitive Program
Our Competitive program focuses on developing a well-rounded athlete. Our provincial program is designed to enhance basic skills in a fun and intense training environment. York Artistic Swimming Club has a variety of Provincial Teams - 10&U, 11-12, 13-15 and 16+ - who train in water, a minimum of three times per week – twice during the week, and one weekend day from September to June.

Our 10 & Under and 11-12  programs are ideally suited for those athletes who have come through our Recreational and/or Novice  programs and are eager to start competing at the Provincial level within Ontario, provided the athlete has achieved a positive “Tryout” . Flexibility, strength training, and speed swimming are all part of regular training, in addition to training fundamental artistic swimming skills, figure development and routine training.

This year we will be introducing an online training component, a minimum of 1 training day per week.

Provincial swimmers will participate in 3-5 mandatory competitions, some of which will be virtual for the 2020-2021 season.

In water training: Tuesdays/Thursdays/Sundays weekly, plus 1 Saturday per month
